FAMILY FRIENDLY PROTECTION DOGS
At International Defense K9s, we provide top-tier training for our family-friendly protection dogs in our own home, with our own family. Our delivery process includes a 1-5 day in-person training session that not only welcomes your new protection dog into your family, but also empowers your family to love and utilize their new best friend if needed.
We also offer ongoing tech support and refresher training, and you can reach us anytime with any questions or concerns about your new K9 bodyguard, no matter how small. We stand behind the quality of our dogs and our training, and our ultimate goal is to give you and your family peace of mind and security.
CANINE TRAINING METHODS
At You and Your Dog Behavioral Health and You and Your Dog LLC, we use the latest, most advanced training techniques available. We specialize in rehabilitating rescue dogs with severe anxiety or aggression issues, and we also train and place service dogs with clients who have various disabilities. Our expertise extends to training hunting dogs and coaching pets for success in various competitions, such as freestyle disc, agility, herding, and protection sports. Kristi and Otto, both featured on the popular TV show America’s Top Dog, have an unparalleled level of experience and expertise. Otto and his dog Chino made history by becoming the first of their breed to win the USA World Championship MondioRing in 2017. Their unique approach to dog training sets them apart from all other trainers in the industry.
KNOWLEDGE OF VARIOUS DOGS BREEDS
We understand that not all clients prefer German Shepherds, and sometimes a different breed may be a better match. Our expertise in protection training extends to a wide range of breeds, including exotic ones such as the American Pitbull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Cane Corso, Dogo Argentina, Presa Canario, South African Borbel, Caucasian Mountain Dog, Belgian Malinois, Giant Schnauzer, Doberman, German Shepherd, and Rottweiler. FIRST-HAND KNOWLEDGE OF THE CANINE SPORT WORLD
At International Defense K9s, we have a deep understanding of dog sports and their titles. Our founders, Otto and Kristi, have achieved high accomplishments as handlers and training decoys for many dogs who have gone on to achieve world team level status. Otto himself achieved level 3 super selective decoy status at the Decoy Super Selective in 2017, a feat accomplished by fewer than 10 people in the history of the sport in the United States.
We recognize that while many sport dogs possess the necessary attributes to excel as family protectors, only a small percentage of them truly do. At International Defense K9s, we are experts in recognizing and selecting these
few perfect candidates and transitioning them into their roles as family protectors through advanced training. We do not believe in simply purchasing titled sport dogs from Europe and selling them to clients without additional training. Our team possesses an unparalleled understanding of dog sports and the dogs that excel in them due to our extensive experience in police, military, and sport dog training. We use this broad-based background to properly select canines for purchase, training, and placement into a home. HOME AND FAMILY TRAINING
At International Defense K9, we believe that each dog we sell becomes a part of our family, just as our clients become part of our extended family. We take great pride in ensuring that our canines are trained in a unique and comprehensive manner, unlike other companies that keep their dogs locked in kennel runs for most of the day. Instead, we train our dogs in a home environment, where they live with one of our experienced trainers and their family. They eat, sleep, and play with our children and are treated like members of our family.
We strongly believe that in order to be an effective canine bodyguard, the dog must be trained in the same environment in which it will serve and protect its family. Our canines will live in your home with you and your loved ones, travel with you, and sleep next to your children at night. Therefore, it is important that their training takes place in a similar environment, as this type of training is essential to ensure that the canine bodyguard is adequately prepared for its important role in your family.
ACTUAL WORKING CANINES
At International Defense K9, we take great care to ensure that each of our canines is rigorously tested, trained, and proven to excel in their work before they are delivered to our clients. While we specialize in providing exceptional canine bodyguards, we also have experience providing police or military canines when requested. However, the selection and training process for police or military canines is different from that of our standard canine bodyguards due to the unique needs of those roles.

We are a boutique company, serving a discerning clientele, with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. Unlike larger companies where clients can easily get lost in the shuffle, we prioritize our clients and their satisfaction above all else. Whether you have questions about feeding, vaccinations, grooming, or changes in behavior, or just need some basic training advice, we are always available to help. We offer unlimited technical support and an extended training period that can be utilized within the first 90 days after your canine is delivered. Additionally, we offer maintenance and refresher packages to ensure that your K9's skills remain sharp and they continue to function effectively as a trusted member of your family.
